Day Off!

Today was my day off. It's weird to have one of those in the middle of the week, but this one was definetly needed. Yesterday we celebrated my co-worker Amanprit's birthday & I think I just over did it on the goodies. I made 7 layer bean dip (no left overs btw), there was spaghetti, casserole, soda, cake....TOO MUCH SUGAR & carbs for me! I have been so good that within an hour after returning from lunch I was sick to my stomach! So a day off was in order to recoop.

I took Miss Olivia to her first vet visit. She meowed the whole way over, but was surprisingly very calm when she saw the doctor. He checked her over & gave her a clean bill of health. The little rascal slept the whole way home! I was amazed at her tranquil behavior.
After dropping Miss Olivia off at home, I headed back to town to kill time before Mike got home from work. I headed to Wal-Mart to see if there was anything good in the redbox worth renting. It must have been pure luck, because I managed to get front row parking today! Then I go in & the only thing that I haven't seen yet was a scary movie so I rented it (Haunting In Conneticut---too fake for me, not so scary). Then I start meandering through the store, I mean come on it's Wal-Mart, I'm sure I can find something I need for real cheap, right!?

Heading back to my car (remember not a far walk because I was parked real close) I notice a glare of sunlight hitting the rear fender, & it doesn't look right. I step up closer with the cart & start to hit the unlock button on my keyes. Oh damnit! There is a big friggin' dent in the rear fender! When the hell did that happen!? There was no cars parked next to me...I didn't hit anything this time (I SWEAR)....what's that I see???..."Laredo".... Hahahaha, oops not my car, I'm one aisle over! Whew!

I ended up making Mike & I burritos for dinner tonight. I'm buying healthy foods...even whole wheat tortillas. However, I do not recommend Guerreros whole wheat tortillas. They stuck together & shredded & fell apart the minute I tried to roll them into burritos! Am I missing something?! They were a mess to eat needless to say. But the best is yet to come for the evening....

Mike & I are addicted to the show GhostHunters...as I may have previously mentioned....and it's on TV tonight. I'm not sure if I believe in this ghost hunting stuff, but they sure do make it fun to watch...and some of these guys are good looking too! Check it out on the SyFy channel, Wed nights @ 9pm!

1...2...3...Cheese!

Today I went & took some Glamor shots for fun... (and maybe as an Anniversary gift for Mike). I took a few with my veil, tiara, & earrings worn on my wedding day. Also the traditional feather boa poses too! Lots of fun! This is the 1st time I have ever worn fake eyelashes & I think they really made my eyes stand out. The darkening of my eyebrows got a lot of compliments as well. Yay for the day of beauty! I loved the makeup so much I came home & did some self portraits...(haha yep even the classic in the bathroom shot, you can see the shower curtain, just convenient because you take once last look in the mirror & snap!). Here they are....and YES...Natalie & I could be twins if I was as high maintenance as she is!

She is so small & wrinkly like a little sharpei doggy! She made all the cutest faces & expressions like she understood every comment we were making about her. Amazing! Look she even stuck her tongue out at me when I called her a little Benjamin Button look-a-like! Haha!I can't believe Bryan is a Dad, even when I saw him holding her....CRAZY!Auntie Jen is totally in love with her niece.

Pom Pom Pas!

July 30th was my big court date down in Lancaster (the desert). The story is...is that Western Dental failed to renew the tags on the company car I was driving last November... the result of which was a citation from Lancaster's finest! I was getting notices to surrender my license for failure to appear in court & bail amount $825....all for a "fix-it" like ticket! Sheesh!

All I could do was hear my charges from the judge & make a plea: "guilty", "not guilty", or "no contest" (which is not admitting one way or the other but allows you to settle the matter right then & there). I've never been more nervous...I didn't know how serious this matter was or how much it was gunna cost.....WESTERN DENTAL!!! That's right.....I made my plea of "no-contest" and got lucky with a $609 fine....which I forwarded to WDS! Although if I had to be locked up & license taken away, I did have a back up plan! My best good pal Heather! She was the Romy to my Michelle on this road trip! I knew Michael was not able to go & she was the only responsible enough person (available that day, haha) to come with me.

I think I asked her 10 times what plea I should make when it was time to face the judge. It was quite a learning experience for us both....thankfully some of Lancaster's not-so-finest citizens demonstrated what NOT to do in the courtroom. So we took our cues & changed my plea 3 times before I was called up! LoL!
The driving force behind this trip was the need to settle the legal issues, but the fuel & courage was supplied by our pure enjoyment of odd sights & stops along the way. Like this out of nowhere bunny foo foo at our hotel. Only Heather & I would find it necessary to photograph this creature at 12am after checking into our Holiday Inn Hotel! It was amazing how close we got (with the car) to take this picture.
On our way home we stopped at the cutest farmer's fruit stand shop. It actually had a giant ant jungle gym for kids, a tour of the crop area, flowers, fruits, nuts, veggies, you name it! We couldn't help but stop & pose as little fruits ourselves....

We giggled, laughed, & joked about my ungodly bad luck with driving & vehicles in general. It put me at ease to have her accompany me on this trip. Thanks Roo! Tell your Espanol teacher we gave the judge the 'ol "Pom Pom Pas!"....as opposed to a "Boom Boom Pow"...LMAO!
